Global PSP – merchant service

The client needed to execute a global strategy to enhance merchant and consumer services, transitioning to a 24/7 “follow-the-sun” service model.

We provided Project & Transformation Management and led the transition to a global service model, ensuring 24/7 coverage with seamless handovers between regions and developed a fit-for-purpose customer segmentation strategy and aligned SLA definitions and operational processes accordingly. Finally, we took on the role of Business Owner for the implementation of a new Salesforce platform, ensuring alignment with business needs and strategic goals.

We successfully established a globally operational, around-the-clock service department. The new customer segmentation strategy and related SLAs improved service delivery, while the Salesforce implementation streamlined operations and enhanced customer engagement.

Card scheme

The client sought strategic advice on major developments in the e-commerce sector, including emerging business models, evolving consumer habits (such as omnichannel usage), and the resulting requirements for seamless payment solutions.

We analyzed emerging business models in e-commerce to identify key trends and opportunities and assessed changing consumer behaviors, including the growing demand for omnichannel experiences. We finally evaluated the requirements for seamless payment solutions to meet evolving market needs.

We provided the client with clear, actionable guidance for its e-commerce strategy, emphasizing innovation and aligning with future market demands.

Payment processor for public transport

The client sought to evaluate the feasibility for travelers to reload their new public transport cards (OV-pas) self-checkout registers in retail stores.

In collaboration with the client, we first developed a practical solution leveraging our industry experience and deep market knowledge, incl. use cases, process analysis, and high-level architecture. Then, we worked with all relevant stakeholders (retailers, terminal providers, etc.) to determine the impact of each process step.

The key outcome was that reloading the public transport card using the solution proposed by us (leveraging NFC, among other technologies) is feasible and offers several advantages compared to the original solution, such as better alignment with retailer preferences and lower costs.

Acquiring bank

The client sought assistance in defining its omnichannel cross-border acquiring proposition. Following this, the client required support in selecting a strategic partner and managing the redesign and equipping of its joint venture.

We defined the client’s omnichannel cross-border acquiring strategy to align with market needs and business objectives and conducted a comprehensive partner selection process. We coordinated and safeguarded the bank’s interests in the establishment of a joint venture, ensuring alignment with its strategic goals.

The client successfully launched its enhanced cross-border acquiring proposition through the joint venture, backed by a strong partnership and a clear strategic foundation.

Payment Services Provider

The client required a reconciliation solution for their operational accounting department to ensure control over transaction volumes and payment methods, which had increased due to a merger.

We provided end-to-end support, incl. defining requirements, evaluating make-or-buy decisions, conducting market impact analyses, and managing vendor selection. We guided the client through every step by developing a long list and short list, issuing RFI and RFP documents, executing a proof of concept (PoC), and overseeing the contracting phase. Additionally, we offered expertise in payment processing and methods while ensuring structured, efficient project management.

In just four months, the project was completed successfully, with all stakeholders—including unselected vendors—satisfied with the professionalism of the selection process.
